Tie The Knot
HAWKINS MIKITA worked with client JESSE TYLER FERGUSON to create a unique philanthropic and cause marking campaign to support marriage equality across the United States. Utilizing our creative approaches, corporate relationships, and our ability to develop unique partnerships, TIE THE KNOT was created as a primary social driven cause marketing effort to raise awareness and raise dollars to support marriage equality advocacy through the sale of bow ties. This campaign, managed by Hawkins Mikita, has created tremendous visibility for Tie The Knot and its brand as well as has been successful in raising over $500,000 to support organizations fighting for marriage equality. After the United States Supreme Court ruled in favor of the freedom to marry in June, 2015, Tie The Knot expanded its mission to focus on advancing LGBTQ rights worldwide.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Tie The Knot have supported: the AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION (ACLU), AMERICAN FOUNDATION FOR EQUAL RIGHTS (AFER), FREEDOM TO MARRY, HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN (HRC), GAY LESBIAN & STRAIGHT EDUCATION NETWORK (GLSEN), LAMBDA LEGAL, NATIONAL CENTER FOR LESBIAN RIGHTS (NCLR), THE PALEY CENTER FOR MEDIA, RESPECT FOR MARRIAGE COALITION, STRAIGHT BUT NOT NARROW (SBNN), TRUE COLORS FUND, and AUSTRALIAN MARRIAGE EQUALITY.
