Tie The Knot Launches Project Contrast Campaign

Tie The Knot has partnered with Maxwell Poth to raise money through the sales of LZZR jewelry for his non-profit, Project Contrast. Project Contrast was originally a photo project created by him, an LGBTQ+ Photographer, created to highlight the high suicide rate in his home state of Utah where the leading cause of death for ages 10 - 17 is teen suicide. After growing up Mormon and hearing about the death of a young gay mormon boy from his hometown of Bountiful, Utah due to suicide Maxwell created his photo project. Photographing LGBTQ+ youth in the state of Utah and collecting their stories of what is it like to be LGBTQ+ where they are from, what they are doing to feel confident in who they are and then giving advice to other youth just like them.

After publishing the photos and stories via OUT Magazine and The Advocate and seeing the positive outlet it was creating for LGBTQ+ youth the project transitioned into a Nonprofit. Now Project Contrast travels the country working with LGBTQ+ youth, centers and clubs. Collecting their stories and taking their photos to create a content platform where LGBTQ+ youth across the country can relate to one another and realize they are loved and not alone.

Maxwell has traveled to over 16 states and counting. Collecting personal stories and helping end the suicide epidemic within the LGBTQ+ youth community.
